In anybody’s experience, nothing appears to be “safer” than our body. But is our body really so certain and easy to understand? Neuropsychology tells us that what seems obvious is often not obvious at all. Using examples drawn from real life, this book represents an extraordinary and sometimes bizarre journey to the intricacies of bodily awareness and the roots of our identity. The reader will discover that sometimes we attribute other people’s body parts to our own bodies, while at other times we do not recognize parts of our body as ours, attribute them to other people, or even reject them, to the point of being attracted by people who do not have them.
