This book leads readers on a journey of discovery of emotions. The authors explain the latter’s origins, their neural bases, the reasons for their pervasiveness, and the way they are inextricably embedded into our bodies. Readers will learn how the acknowledgement of others’ emotions is a phenomenon that is itself emotional; why there are no emotional states devoid of elements of expression and communication; why our actions, decisions and memories always have an emotional component. In other words, this book shows us why our thinking is «made of emotions».
