There are many reasons that can lead us to consult a psychotherapist: stressful or painful events, panic attacks, uncontrollable anxiety, anorexia nervosa, couple dysfunctions. A psychotherapist can be a useful support for preventing the reiteration of events that upset our lives, but also contribute to self-improvement and successfully addressing everyday challenges. What does it mean to undergo psychotherapy? What are its consequences and its possible results? How do typical sessions take place and how long do therapies last? The author describes a variety of therapeutic practices and explains the different kinds of help they offer.
