L'Industria is one of the oldest Italian journals of economics. Established in Milan in 1886, about a century later it merged with the "Rivista di economia e politica industriale" (Review of Industrial Economics and Policy) founded by Romano Prodi. Its main aim is to act as a roundtable for the discussion on the main issues related to economics and industrial policy. The journal follows three main analytical streams: industries, markets and policy. It is directed not only to academics, but also to entrepreneurs, policy-makers and to all those who have a governmental role. Particular attention is devoted to the Italian and European experiences as well as to the study of cases linked to other developed and emerging countries. Every issue is focused on topics of particular relevance and novelty, presented together with a selection of theoretical essays. L'Industria is also among the journals selected by the "American Economic Association" (JEL on CD, e-Jel and Econlit).
